we are proud to announce that we have won an award of excellence for the landscape of terra - sustainability pavilion, dubai expo 2020. the international federation of landscape architects (ifla) aapme awards 2022 awarded us under the category of built projects: wildlife, biodiversity, habitat enhancement or creation.
the sustainability pavilion’s landscape was inspired by the forms of the natural habitats of the UAE; namely sand dunes, wadis, and mountains. it simultaneously also celebrates the water-wise native flora that thrives in the harshest of conditions. coupled with locally sourced materials, this landmark project provides a beautiful, working example of innovations previously thought unachievable.
this project not only offered sustainable benefits but also convinced decision-makers and the general public that sustainable landscapes can also be beautiful!
